L’estate in Italia ha sempre qualcosa di unico. È la stagione che profuma di libertà, di corse a piedi nudi sulla sabbia, di gelati che si sciolgono troppo in fretta e di tramonti che sembrano dipinti.
Da quando siamo diventati genitori, abbiamo scoperto un nuovo modo di viaggiare: più lento, più consapevole, con la voglia di creare ricordi che restino.
Questa è stata la nostra seconda estate in tre, la seconda estate con Gioia. La scorsa stagione era ancora piccolissima, quest’anno invece ha camminato, ha giocato, ha riso di fronte al mare. Per noi è stato emozionante viverla attraverso i suoi occhi curiosi.

Summer in Italy always has something unique. It’s the season that smells of freedom, of running barefoot on the sand, of ice creams that melt too quickly, and sunsets that look like paintings.
Since becoming parents, we’ve discovered a new way of traveling: slower, more mindful, with the desire to create lasting memories.
This was our second Summer as a trio, the second one with Gioia. Last year she was still very young, but this year she walked, played, and laughed by the sea. It was exciting for us to experience it through her curious eyes.

Tra le varie tipologie di camere, ci sono le villette e noi abbiamo alloggiato proprio in una di queste.
Spaziosa e confortevole, perfetta per una famiglia: camera da letto ampia, patio esterno per godersi la sera, soggiorno con divano per leggere un libro o giocare con Gioia e bagno grande e luminoso; questi sono i dettagli che fanno la differenza quando si viaggia con bambini piccoli.

A few kilometers from Torre dell’Orso and Otranto, CDSHotels Marelive is located: a unique hotel designed for those who love contemporary design while still embracing the authenticity of the area.

The large central pool, with its island bar, became the centerpiece of our days: Gioia loved the shallow water, while we indulged in moments of relaxation, sipping a drink at sunset and enjoying delicious lunch options from the snack menu.
Among the various room types, there are villas, and we stayed in one of these.
Spacious and comfortable, perfect for a family: a large bedroom, an outdoor patio for enjoying the evening, a living room with a sofa for reading a book or playing with Gioia, and a large, bright bathroom; these are the details that make all the difference when traveling with kids.
La spiaggia convenzionata del Marelive CDSHotels: relax a pochi minuti dall’hotel
Uno dei grandi vantaggi del soggiorno al Marelive CDSHotels è la possibilità di usufruire della spiaggia convenzionata agli Alimini, una delle più belle località balneari del Salento.
In circa 10 minuti di auto si arriva direttamente al parcheggio custodito e da lì, qualche metro di camminata piacevole al fresco della pineta e ci si ritrova in spiaggia.
La spiaggia è ampia, ben organizzata e soprattutto attrezzata per le famiglie: ombrelloni e lettini, mare digradante perfetto anche per i più piccoli, sabbia dorata che invita a costruire castelli e giocare in riva.
Per noi è stata una soluzione ideale: Gioia ha potuto muoversi liberamente e vivere i suoi primi veri giochi sulla spiaggia in totale sicurezza, mentre noi ci siamo goduti il relax senza pensieri.
E il mare? Cristallino, con mille sfumature di azzurro, proprio come quello che ci si aspetta quando si sceglie il Salento per le proprie vacanze.

One of the great benefits of staying at Marelive CDSHotels is the opportunity to use the partner beach in Alimini, one of the most beautiful seaside resorts in Salento.
A 10-minute drive takes you directly to the paid parking, and from there, a pleasant walk through the cool pine forest takes you to the beach.
The beach is large, well-organized, and above all, family-friendly: umbrellas and sunbeds, a gently sloping sea perfect for even the littlest ones, and golden sand inviting you to build castles and play on the shore.
For us, it was an ideal solution: Gioia was able to walk freely and enjoy her first real beach games in complete safety, while we enjoyed a carefree relax.

Una delle cose che più abbiamo apprezzato del Marelive è stata l’attenzione alle famiglie. Viaggiare con un bimbo piccolo non è sempre semplice, ma qui tutto sembrava fatto per rendere la vacanza più leggera.
Spazi ampi: perfetti per lasciare i bambini liberi di muoversi.
Piscina scenografica ma sicura: ideale anche per chi, come noi, viaggia con una bimba di 1 anno.

One of the things we most appreciated about Marelive was the attention to families. Traveling with a small kid is not always easy, but here everything seemed designed to make the holiday easier.

Dal Marelive è facilissimo partire alla scoperta dei dintorni. Ogni giorno si possono scoprire posti nuovi:
Torre dell’Orso: con la sua spiaggia a mezzaluna e il mare cristallino.
Torre Sant’Andrea: famosa per i faraglioni che sembrano emergere come sculture dal mare.
Grotta della Poesia: una delle piscine naturali più belle al mondo, spettacolare anche solo da ammirare dall’alto.

Noi ci siamo regalati del sano tempo in famiglia per rilassarci e viverci appieno, quindi per lo più siamo stati nell’hotel ma la sera del nostro anniversario ci siamo concessi una seratina romantica in 3 ad Otranto, per una bella passeggiata tra le viuzze del borgo e una cenetta dai sapori autentici.

We gave ourselves some quality family time to relax, so we mostly stayed at the hotel, but for the evening of our anniversary, we had a romantic evening for three in Otranto, for a lovely stroll through the village’s narrow streets and a dinner of authentic flavors.
La nostra seconda estate con Gioia
Per Gioia, ma anche per noi come genitori, è stata una vacanza ricca di nuove scoperte, un’avventura dopo l’altra.
Vederla correre tra i vialetti dell’hotel, ridere in piscina, assaggiare per la prima volta la frisella salentina… sono momenti che resteranno per sempre nei nostri ricordi.
L’anno scorso era ancora una neonata, quest’anno ha vissuto l’estate da piccola esploratrice. Questo ci ha fatto capire quanto sia importante scegliere strutture e destinazioni family-friendly, che rendano tutto più semplice e ci permettano di goderci il viaggio senza stress.
Our second Summer with Gioia
For Gioia, but also for us as parents, it was a vacation full of new discoveries, one adventure after another.
Seeing her run through the hotel’s paths, laughing in the pool, tasting frisella salentina for the first time… these are moments that will forever remain in our memories.
Last year she was still a newborn; this year, she experienced the Summer as a little explorer. This made us realize how important it is to choose family-friendly accommodations and destinations that make everything easier and allow us to enjoy the trip without stress.
