Mykonos: *Votsalaki Boutique Resort*

Quest’anno le nostre vacanze estive non potevano iniziare in un modo migliore.

Di solito, io e Nicola impieghiamo davvero tanto tempo prima di decidere la meta principale della nostra estate; in realtà, questa volta è stato davvero semplice.
Dopo essere stati a Santorini due anni fa, ci eravamo ripromessi di tornare nelle bellissime isole Cicladi appena possibile e così è stato, ma stavolta abbiamo scelto Mykonos.

Per me non è stata la primissima volta qui; infatti, nel 2005 avevo già avuto modo di rendermi conto di quanto fosse bella Mykonos trascorrendoci una mezza giornata durante una crociera nel Mediterraneo.
Ricordo che era stato subito “love at first sight” e avevo giurato a me stessa che prima o poi avrei dovuto tornarci!

Biglietto aereo fatto, hotel prenotati, countdown cominciato.
Se mi seguite su instagram, potrete facilmente ricollegare il mio racconto di viaggio all’ultima settimana di giugno; a mio parere, il periodo migliore per godere del mare e dell’isola senza troppo affollamento.
Si è in medio-alta stagione, i prezzi non sono bassi ma l’affluenza è minore rispetto ai mesi di luglio e agosto quando muoversi tra le strette viuzze di Mykonos Town diventa davvero complicato (non che sia stato particolarmente facile per noi, la gente era comunque tanta…).

Gli hotel scelti sono stati due, in due zone completamente diverse, per goderci meglio i principali punti attrattivi dell’isola.
Il primo ad Agios Stefanos, vicino al porto nuovo e a pochi km di distanza dalla Chora (questo è il nome con cui viene comunemente chiamato il principale villaggio di Mykonos, Mykonos Town) ed il secondo a Paradise Beach.

Ed è proprio su quest’ultimo che voglio soffermarmi meglio in questo mio articolo.
Il Votsalaki Boutique Resort, come dicevo, sorge nella baia di Paradise Beach, una delle più belle spiagge dell’isola, a mio avviso la più bella!

This year our summer holidays could not have started in a better way.

Usually, Nicola and I spend so much time before deciding on the main destination of our summer; actually, this time it was really simple.
Having been to Santorini two years ago, we had promised ourselves to come back to the beautiful Cycladic islands as soon as possible and it was just like this.

For me it wasn’t the first time here; in fact, in 2005 I already had the opportunity to realize how beautiful Mykonos is spending here half a day during a cruise in the Mediterranean Sea.
It has been immediately “love at first sight” and I swore to myself that sooner or later I would have to go back!

Flight tickets bought, hotels booked, countdown started.
If you follow me on instagram, you can easily reconnect my travel story to the last week of June; to me, the best time to enjoy the sea and the island without too much crowding.
It is mid-high season, the prices are not low but the turnout is lower than in July and August when walking through the narrow streets of Mykonos Town becomes really complicated (not that it has been particularly easy for us, there were still a lot of people …).

Two hotels chosen in two completely different areas, in order to better enjoy the main attractions of the island.
The first one was in Agios Stefanos, near the new seaport and a few km away from the Chora (this is the name with which it is commonly called the main village of Mykonos, Mykonos Town) and the second one in Paradise Beach.

Now I want to tell you about the last one.
The Votsalaki Boutique Resort, as I said, is located in the bay of Paradise Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, to me the most beautiful!

La Chora si può raggiungere con l’autobus il cui biglietto si può fare a bordo oppure al mini market presente alla fermata.
In alternativa, per chi come noi ama esplorare le isole greche a bordo di un mezzo, si può affittare un quad o uno scooter e in circa mezz’ora di strada si arriva in paese.
Il mare in questa zona è magnifico, i colori sono di un azzurro intenso ed il Meltemi, il vento di Mykonos che soffia da Nord per quasi tutto il periodo estivo, qui è meno fastidioso in quanto ci si trova a sud.

Il Votsalaki Boutique Resort è stato creato per offrire una vacanza di lusso.
L’offerta è davvero varia e ce n’è per tutte le tasche: si va dagli studios alle villas dal design unico (spaziosi appartamenti con due camere da letto), passando per gli apartments. Tutti con vista panoramica sul Mar Egeo.

The Chora can be reached by bus whose tickets can be done on board or at the mini market near the bus stop.
Alternatively, for those (like us) who love to explore the Greek islands with a vehicle, there is the possibility of renting a quad or a scooter and reach the village in about half an hour.
The sea in this area is magnificent, the colors are of an intense blue and the Meltemi, the Mykonos wind that blows from the North for almost all the summer period, here is less annoying as we are in the South.

The Votsalaki Boutique Resort was created to offer a luxury vacation.
The offer is really varied and there is something for every budget: Studios, Villas (spacious two-bedroom apartments), Apartments. All with panoramic views to the Aegean archipelagos.

Tra gli spazi comuni del Votsalaki Boutique Resort vi è la bellissima e iconica piscina a sfioro a forma di sasso piatto (la tipica infinity pool che tanto piace a noi instagrammer per scattare foto d’effetto) con un grazioso bar a bordo piscina dove tutti gli ospiti possono gustare la breakfast, un cocktail, una pizza, qualche snack greco o più semplicemente un caffè.
Io e Nicola non ci siamo fatti mancare nulla e, oltre alla super colazione abbondante offerta la mattina, abbiamo provato qualche cocktail preparato dai bravissimi bartender della struttura e la pizza.

Per chi non può rinunciare a del sano movimento anche in vacanza, è presente una mini palestra all’aperto, situata accanto all’area della piscina, accompagnati da una vista sul mare mozzafiato.

Among the common areas of the Votsalaki Boutique Resort there is the beautiful and iconic infinity pebble-shaped pool with a nice pool bar where all guests can enjoy the breakfast, a cocktail, a pizza, some Greek snacks or simply a coffee.
Nicola and I did not miss anything and, in addition to the super abundant breakfast offered in the morning, we tried some cocktails prepared by the talented bartenders of the hotel and pizza.

For those who cannot do without some physical exercises even on vacation, there is an outdoors mini gym, located next to the pool area, accompanied by a breathtaking sea view.

Per le vacanze in famiglia, ci sono appartamenti che condividono una piscina con acqua poco profonda per gli ospiti più piccoli, oltre alla zona giochi vicino alla piscina principale.

La nostra Superior Suite fa parte di una delle suite di nuova costruzione del resort e si trova tra le camere che hanno accesso diretto alla piscina.
Arredato completamente in stile cicladico, il nostro piccolo appartamentino mi ha fatto innamorare immediatamente.
Per non parlare della visuale di cui abbiamo potuto godere dal nostro terrazzo privato, una meraviglia per gli occhi!

L’ingresso dà sul salottino dove non mancano la tv, l’angolo bar e due divani che all’occorrenza si trasformano in letti per accogliere altri due ospiti.
Per la mia gioia, l’intera suite è piena di armadi che ho provveduto immediatamente a riempire con le migliaia di cose che avevo portato, i vestiti e le scarpe non sono mai troppi! 😀

Sul salotto si affacciano altre due porte, in una c’è la camera matrimoniale super confortevole e nell’altra un bagno davvero spazioso con doppio lavandino, walking shower e la mia vasca dei sogni, quella freestanding.

For family holidays, there are apartments that share a shallow water pool for younger guests, in addition to the play area near the main pool.

Our Superior Suite is one of the brand new suites of the resort with direct access to the pool.
Fully furnished in Cycladic style, our small apartment made me fall in love immediately.
It must be mentioned the view we could enjoy from our private terrace, a marvel for the eyes!

The entrance is onto the living room where there are a TV, a bar corner and two sofas that can be transformed into beds to accommodate two other guests.
The entire suite is full of closets that I immediately filled with the thousands of things I had brought; the clothes and shoes are never too many! : D

There are two other rooms, in one there is the super comfortable double bedroom and in the other one a very spacious bathroom with double sink, a walking shower and my dream bathtub, the freestanding one.

I meravigliosi tramonti del luogo e l’ambiente romantico rendono il Votsalaki Boutique Resort la destinazione perfetta per un indimenticabile soggiorno di coppia.
L’accoglienza è davvero delle migliori; tutto lo staff si mette al servizio del cliente per rendere la vacanza il più rilassante e piacevole possibile.

Qui ci si può abbandonare al più completo relax, mangiare bene, divertire e godere di un mare paradisiaco.
