CDSHotels Corte di Nettuno: tranquillità e bellezza a pochi metri dal mare di Otranto

Anche quest’anno per le vacanze di fine agosto in Salento, ci siamo affidati al preparatissimo staff di CDSHotels.
Due le tappe che abbiamo deciso di fare questa volta, la prima ad Otranto e la seconda a Castro.

Nella splendida cornice otrantina sorge la CORTE DI NETTUNO, il delizioso hotel **** che ci ha ospitato per le prime 4 notti della nostra vacanza salentina, a pochi passi dal porto e dal centro storico.
L’hotel si caratterizza per la particolarità di essere “un grande museo marittimo”.

Also this year for our holidays at the end of August in Salento, we relied on the highly trained staff of CDSHotels.
This time we decided to do two stops: the first one in Otranto and the second one in Castro.

In the splendid Otranto’s setting stands the Corte di Nettuno, the delightful **** hotel that hosted us for the first 4 nights of our Salento holiday, just a short walk from the boat port and the historic center.
The hotel is characterized by the particularity of being “a huge maritime museum”.

Ogni angolo della struttura, infatti, è arredato a regola d’arte per far immergere gli ospiti nell’atmosfera marina.
La cosa strabiliante è che tutti gli oggetti presenti, persino timoni e polene come anche le tantissime lanterne appese al soffitto di una delle scale, appartengono alla collezione privata del proprietario!
Tra suggestive volte in pietra locale e terrazza con vista sul centro storico di Otranto, l’hotel è stato il luogo ideale per rilassarci e godere del mare splendido della Puglia.

Every corner of the building, in fact, is perfectly furnished in order to immerse guests in the marine atmosphere.
The amazing thing is that all the objects here, even rudders and figureheads as well as the many lanterns hanging from the ceiling of one of the stairs, belong to the owner’s private collection!
Among evocative local stone vaults and a terrace overlooking the historic center of Otranto, the hotel has been the ideal place for us to relax and enjoy the splendid apulian sea.

Essendo arrivati in auto, una cosa che abbiamo molto gradito è stato il parcheggio all’aperto ad uso esclusivo dei clienti; assolutamente da non sottovalutare, soprattutto durante l’alta stagione quando trovare un posto è praticamente impossibile.
Ci siamo sentiti da subito a casa, accolti dal gentilissimo personale che non ci ha mai fatto mancare nulla, a partire da un’abbondantissima e super gustosa colazione in camera per un lento e dolce risveglio.

Having arrived by car, one thing that we liked very much was the outdoor parking for the exclusive use of customers; absolutely not to be underestimated, especially during the high season when finding a car parking is impossible.
We felt at home right away, greeted by the very kind staff who never made us miss anything, starting with an abundant and super tasty breakfast in the room for a slow and sweet awakening.

All’interno dell’hotel ma usufruibile anche da ospiti esterni, il ristorante Nettuno che d’estate si sposta all’aperto, nel grazioso cortile dell’albergo. Cibo davvero delizioso e di alta qualità, che valorizza la cucina tipica del territorio.

A disposizione di tutti gli ospiti che desiderino approfittarne, lo staff offre gratuitamente ogni giorno un tour in catamarano alla scoperta della meravigliosa e caratteristica costa otrantina. Per fortuna, il vento è stato clemente con noi e ci ha permesso di passare una bellissima mattinata tra una caletta e l’altra.

Inside the hotel but also for external guests, in the summer the Nettuno restaurant moves outdoors, in the hotel’s pretty courtyard.
Very delicious and high quality food, which enhances the typical cuisine of the Salento’s territory.

Available to all guests who wish to take advantage of it, twice a day the staff offers a free catamaran tour to discover the wonderful and characteristic coast of Otranto. Fortunately, the wind was kind to us and allowed us to spend a beautiful morning between one cove and another.

Infine, un’ultima cosa da non farsi sfuggire, è sicuramente l’ex cava di Bauxite, un’attrazione imperdibile per chi come noi ama la natura. A soli 2 km dalla Corte di Nettuno, lontano dalle solite mete turistiche, una meraviglia della natura si apre agli occhi del viaggiatore: la cava ed un laghetto verde smeraldo.
La magia di questo posto risiede nei colori, così intensi e sgargianti e dal fatto che, dopo l’abbandono della cava, grazie alle infiltrazioni d’acqua di una delle tante falde acquifere presenti nel territorio, si è formata una pozza d’acqua che ha assunto toni di colore davvero particolari e unici grazie ai residui di bauxite rimasti.

Finally, one last thing not to be missed, is certainly the former quarry of Bauxite, an unmissable attraction for those who love nature. Just 2 km from the Corte di Nettuno, far from the usual tourist destinations, a marvel of nature opens itself to the eyes of the traveler: the quarry and an emerald green pond.
The magic of this place lies in the colors, so intense and gaudy and the fact that, after the abandonment of the quarry, thanks to water infiltration of one of the many aquifers of the territory, a pool of water has formed that it has taken on unique and unique color tones thanks to the remaining bauxite residues.
